Position Overview

Scopely is seeking a talented Lead Animation Supervisor to oversee the animation efforts for our Monopoly Go project. As a key player in our creative team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality animations that align with our artistic vision and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with external animation studios, ensuring that projects are completed on schedule and meet quality expectations.
  • Quality Assurance: Evaluate and critique animations submitted by vendors, ensuring adherence to our artistic and technical guidelines.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with internal animation, art, and development teams to establish project objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and refine animation workflows to enhance the efficiency of the outsourcing process.
  • Technical Proficiency: Utilize software tools such as Toon Boom Harmony, Maya, and Unity to integrate and refine animations.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for animation processes and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across projects.

Qualifications

  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in animation within the gaming industry, including a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in Toon Boom Harmony, Maya, and Unity.
  • Animation Knowledge: Strong grasp of 2D and 3D animation principles, including timing, weight, and movement.
  • Vendor Management: Proven track record of successfully managing external vendors and outsourcing initiatives.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, capable of providing clear and constructive feedback.
  • Team Orientation: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and adapt to evolving project requirements.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Additional Preferred Skills

  • Hand-drawn Animation: Ability to create hand-drawn animations is a plus.
