The Opportunity
Position: Quality Assurance Intern
Important: Daily responsibilities are conducted in an office environment. No site visits are required.
You will gain experience in:
- Assisting the local Quality Manager in ensuring adherence to Abbott/ ADC Commercial Quality System (QS) and relevant local regulations.
- Aiding in the effectiveness of the Quality System through the execution and upkeep of necessary procedures and processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the establishment and maintenance of a robust ADC EMEAP Quality System / Multisite Integrated Management System (MIMS) by taking ownership of:
- Assisting with both internal and external audits. Supporting Affiliate Quality System processes, including management reviews, supplier/warehouse/distributor oversight, CAPA, Field Action, Quality Hold, promotional material controls, document management, and record keeping. Aiding in the implementation of local quality protocols. Monitoring and tracking Affiliate QS activities. Supporting QS training initiatives to ensure all pertinent personnel are trained and documentation is maintained. Assisting the commercial team with quality-related issues, such as launch and commercial projects.
- Ensuring that all tasks are executed in accordance with applicable quality systems and local regulatory standards.
- Supporting medical event reporting and field actions in close collaboration with PQA, Customer Service, Regulatory Affairs, and Vigilance/ MEG.
- Participating in and supporting Quality System enhancements and implementation initiatives, such as the Champions/ SME program.
Educational Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a scientific discipline (biology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, medical technology, pharmacy, pharmacology, etc.).
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in English and Spanish; additional languages are advantageous.
- A collaborative mindset.
- Strong organizational and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
