Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a division comprising four specialized teams of engineers (approximately 20 members, along with an additional 10 support staff).
  • Accountable for the comprehensive execution and advancement in the domain of vehicle homologation, focusing on both active and passive safety aspects, as well as environmental considerations, alternative propulsion systems, electric vehicles, and hydrogen technologies.
  • Direct management of homologation initiatives alongside a team of engineers: handling budgets, proposals, scheduling, implementation, and oversight.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and conduct testing procedures, both in dynamic testing environments and laboratory settings (including emissions testing).
  • Engage in technical dialogues with manufacturers and regulatory bodies.
  • Responsible for the development of personnel, including training and skill enhancement.
  • Liaise with governmental ministries and accreditation organizations, representing the company at trade shows and technical conferences.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards throughout project execution.
  • Participate in and lead European research and development innovation initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in vehicle homologation within the automotive sector, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in managing teams and engineering projects in an international context.
  • Proficient in project management principles, including resource allocation, timelines, budgeting, planning, and deviation management.
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive technologies, particularly emerging disruptive innovations related to safety, environmental impact, and alternative propulsion methods.
  • Familiarity with activities involving European institutions and research and development projects.
  • Understanding of regulations, standards, and quality assurance processes.
  • Desirable familiarity with regulatory frameworks and approval procedures.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
  • Capacity to thrive in challenging environments while meeting deadlines and budgetary constraints.

Educational Background:

  • Master’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Aeronautical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Other specializations may be considered based on demonstrated skills and experience.

Language Proficiency:

  • Proficient in English is essential.
  • Additional languages will be considered an asset.
