About the Role
The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is seeking a highly skilled Research Data Scientist to join its Data Visualization and Analytics group. As a key member of the team, you will work on applying AI and advanced statistical methods to various problems, including advanced manufacturing, digital services, and urban planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Data exploration and preparation
- Engage with end users and domain experts to capture key components of a problem
- Exploratory modeling (architecture design, pipeline design)
- Visualization and presentation of preliminary results
- Advise younger researchers and engineers in the group
- Help write reports, deliverables, and research proposals
Requirements
- Masters or PhD Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or technology-related field
- Experience with AI and advanced statistical models applied to science and industry
- Experience working on applied data science projects
- Strong AI programming experience, preferably in Python
- Strong initiative to carry on research and development independently
Additional Requirements
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Spanish and other European languages would be advantageous
- Experience in the application fields of the group's projects
