Job Description

FP&A Manager

As an FP&A Manager at Smartcat, you will play a pivotal role in building and shaping our financial planning and analysis function from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to create and refine processes that directly influence our strategic and operational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Build and Enhance FP&A Processes: Develop and refine financial planning and analysis processes, systems, and tools to support strategic and operational planning, ensuring the company is well-prepared for scaling.
  2. Month-End Close Process: Oversee the month-end close process from an FP&A perspective, including data gathering, posting revenue/cost accruals, conducting variance analysis, and presenting key results to the Executive team.
  3. Annual Budgeting and Forecasting: Drive the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-term planning processes in collaboration with the Executive team and Finance team.
  4. Analytical Support: Provide analytical support to both the Finance team and other business stakeholders, addressing ad hoc requests and delivering actionable insights.
  5. Collaboration with Data Team: Collaborate closely with the Data team to build finance KPIs infrastructure for better decision-making.
  6. Team Management: Manage and mentor a small team of financial analysts, prioritizing workloads and ensuring the smooth execution of financial processes.

Requirements

  1. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in management accounting and financial analysis.
  2. Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a keen attention to detail.
  3. Financial Modelling: Advanced proficiency in financial modelling, management accounting, and budgeting processes.
  4. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders and senior management.
  5. Business Relationships: Ability to build effective business relationships across all levels of the organization.
  6. Dynamic Environment: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic scale-up environment, with a proactive approach to managing responsibilities and ensuring process continuity.
  7. Workload Management: Strong ability to prioritize workloads – both personal and for your team – and manage cross-team responsibilities.
  8. SQL Knowledge: Basic SQL knowledge and experience in working closely with Data teams is a strong plus.
  9. B2B SaaS Experience: Experience in B2B SaaS companies is considered as a strong plus.
