YOUR MISSION

We are seeking a skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to enhance our users' experience with a comprehensive feature set, ensuring high availability and exceptional performance. As we grow our digital advertising SaaS offerings, we are refining our processes and pipelines, allowing our Senior DevOps Engineers to extract insights from the vast data generated by our ad-serving infrastructure and to oversee the health and performance of the complex systems accessible to our clients through APIs and web applications.

Joining our team of Senior DevOps Engineers, you will collaborate closely with Product Owners and their teams to empower, guide, and support various engineering groups.

In your role at Factor Eleven, you will deliver robust, future-ready solutions utilizing AWS and Kubernetes, contribute innovative ideas, plan, mentor, and evaluate the work of your colleagues, showcase a unique and well-informed perspective, and enjoy working with cross-functional teams to create practical solutions and enhance user experiences at every touchpoint.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the production environment by monitoring availability and maintaining a comprehensive view of system health.
  • Plan, mentor, and assess the contributions of your team members.
  • Develop software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications.
  • Enhance reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions.
  • Measure and optimize system performance, anticipating customer needs and innovating for continuous improvement.
  • Provide primary operational support and engineering for our digital advertising SaaS platform.
  • Collect and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to aid in performance tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with development teams to enhance services through rigorous testing and release processes.
  • Engage in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning.
  • Create sustainable systems and services through automation and enhancements.
  • Balance feature development speed and reliability with clearly defined service level objectives.

YOUR PROFILE

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in roles such as Cloud Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar.
  • Strong expertise in Kubernetes with Helm and container orchestration using Docker.
  • Proficient knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS.
  • Ability to program (structured and OO) in multiple high-level languages, including TypeScript, Rust, C/C++, C#, Python, GoLang, or Java.
  • Extensive experience with Application Performance Monitoring, Tracing, and Logging tools such as DataDog, Kibana, Grafana, HoneyComb, Harvest, etc.
  • Good experience with event-driven architecture using distributed message brokers like Apache Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS, RabbitMQ, or Redis Streams.
  • Solid understanding of dynamic resource management frameworks (Kubernetes, Yarn, Helm, cdk8s, AWS CDK, Terraform).
  • A proactive mindset for identifying issues, areas for enhancement, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Basic knowledge of common tools and pipelines in the NodeJS/NPM ecosystem.
  • Problem-solving attitude and collaborative spirit.
  • Preferred: AWS and/or Kubernetes certifications.
