About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled PhD Researcher to join our team at Eurecat's Omic Sciences Department. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cutting-edge CRISPR strategies for various microorganisms, including bacteria and fungi.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and execute CRISPR strategies for different microorganisms, including bacteria and fungi.
  2. Edit genomes using molecular biology techniques and validate modifications using next-generation sequencing.
  3. Develop and implement metabolomics methods based on fluxomics approaches, including untargeted and targeted analysis.
  4. Contribute to scientific publications and provide R&D support to colleagues.
  5. Conduct research, write scientific papers, and deliver a PhD thesis.

You will be part of the Center for Omic Sciences, a leading research center equipped with state-of-the-art metabolomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, and genomics technology. Our team offers a unique opportunity to work on biomarker research services in various areas of health, food, and the environment.

Requirements
  1. Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in biochemistry, biotechnology, and/or molecular biology.
  2. Strong analytical and evaluative skills to conduct independent research and analysis.
  3. Proficiency in data management and analysis is required.
Desirable Skills
  1. Team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  2. Ability to work autonomously and communicate results in a clear and professional manner.
  3. Self-motivated and passionate about the project with a strong sense of curiosity and experimentation.
  4. High oral and written communication skills in English.
  5. High oral and written communication skills in Catalan or Spanish are desirable.
