About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Capital Portfolio Lead to join our Global Operations team at Galderma. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing all projects and programs within the Global Operations Capital Portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Capital Project Delivery: Ensure the successful and cost-effective delivery of major capital expenditures projects by guiding the Global Operations organization on best practices for capital project execution and delivery.
  • Capital Project Processes: Update and maintain the Capital Project Delivery processes within Global Operations, ensuring harmonization and consistency of capital engineering across Galderma sites worldwide.
  • Capital Project Review and Approval: Enhance and streamline the capital project review, prioritization, and approval processes in conjunction with the Global Operations Leadership Team and Corporate Committee.
  • Risk Management: Ensure the implementation of appropriate, risk-based governance of capital projects across the Global Operations CAPEX portfolio, including methodologies for risk identification and mitigation.
  • Global CAPEX Portfolio Management: Establish and maintain the Global Operations CAPEX Portfolio within the Global Project Management Office (PMO) platform in conjunction with the Global PMO function.
  • CAPEX Spending and Planning: Lead the periodic review of CAPEX spending (actuals) and latest best estimate, ensuring current and accurate spending and anticipated final costs are provided on an ongoing basis.
  • Long-Range and Medium-Range CAPEX Planning: Develop, manage, and maintain the Global Operations Long-Range and Medium-Range CAPEX Plans in line with the company's manufacturing strategy.
  • Start-Up Team Enablement: Enable start-up teams to develop and execute site/facility charters, designs, construction, and commissioning, qualification, and validation in accordance with Galderma's standards for excellence and culture of innovation.
  • Talent Development: Lead the development of capital project management talent, focusing on succession planning and career coaching/mentoring.
  • Organizational Upskilling: Educate and contribute to organizational upskilling on capital management by developing training plans for staff to ensure adequate training of all new and existing employees to maximum performance.
  • Departmental KPIs: Develop and maintain critical departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Interdepartmental Relationships: Ensure effective interdepartmental relationships to meet the assigned goals of the organization.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or relevant field required; Master's degree in an engineering discipline or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Extensive years of manufacturing engineering and/or operational experience with a proven record of accomplishment of overseeing large capital plans ($100M+), with demonstrated leadership in commissioning, qualifying, validating new sites in diverse operational environments.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Demonstrated ability to build/lead global teams and establish credibility and rapport in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Project and Portfolio Management: Excellent project and portfolio management skills, with emphasis on identifying requirements and articulating them successfully within project plans.
  • Multi-Stakeholder Environment: Experience of working within a multi-stakeholder environment where competing needs must be managed effectively to deliver results.
  • Initiative and Leadership: Demonstrated pattern of initiative and leadership required.
  • Engineering Project Management: Possess a record of successful experience in management of engineering projects that has produced successful documented results.
