Job Summary:
Hero Gaming is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our in-house accounting team. This role will be essential in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, assisting with tax documentation, collaborating with external accountants, and supporting the overall financial operations of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Management:
- Maintain and update the general ledger, recording daily financial transactions.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data, promptly resolving discrepancies.
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Prepare and analyze variance reports, identifying trends and areas for concern.
- Support the development of budgets and forecasts through data analysis.
- Accounts Payable Receivable:
- Process vendor invoices accurately and ensure timely payment.
- Manage customer invoicing, process payments, and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Track and reconcile accounts to support the company's cash flow management.
- Compliance Auditing:
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant accounting standards.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and support.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and practices.
- Expense Management:
- Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Monitor expense trends and provide recommendations for cost-saving opportunities.
- Support Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the Accounting Manager and other team members on financial projects.
- Work with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and resolve accounting issues.
- Provide support for special projects, such as system implementations or process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification or working toward CPA is a plus.
- 2+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a corporate or in-house environment (experience in the gaming industry is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
