Data Center Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Operations Specialist to join our team at Amazon Data Services Spain, S.L. as a Technical Operations Technician. This role will be responsible for ensuring the overall availability and reliability of our Data Center Engineering Operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the Data Center/Facility, ensuring a better than 99.999% uptime.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, voice/data, chiller systems, and generators to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with contractors and data center engineers to ensure proper operation and maintenance of all facility equipment, including deploying new equipment and performing site walkthroughs to verify proper operation.
  • Support new data center facilities and existing data center facilities, demonstrating an ability to operate with minimal supervision and acting as a Facilities First Responder to critical events.

This individual will be responsible for maintaining service level agreements (SLAs) through proactive issue detection and immediate response, as well as following procedures and system documentation to track issues through a Trouble Ticket system.

Requirements:
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Ability to solve problems through root-cause elimination and troubleshooting complex issues
  • Ability to maintain service level agreements (SLAs) through proactive issue detection and immediate response
  • Ability to follow procedures, system documentation, and track issues through a Trouble Ticket system
  • Good judgment and instincts in decision making
  • Prioritize appropriately in a complex, fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to take ownership for technical issues brought by the customer base
  • Ability to actively engage and work collaboratively with other support teams to drive resolution of problems encountered
  • Experience in data center engineering
