Procurement Specialist

Sme Commodities Inc. is seeking a skilled Purchasing Officer to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring high-quality copra from local farmers and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:- Sourcing and Procurement: Identify and establish relationships with copra suppliers, evaluating copra quality and negotiating purchase agreements.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and supply-demand dynamics related to copra, conducting market research to identify potential suppliers and opportunities for cost savings.
- Quality Control: Implement quality control measures to ensure that procured copra meets specified standards, collaborating with quality assurance teams to address any issues.
- Logistics and Supply Chain Management: Coordinate logistics for the transportation of copra from suppliers to processing facilities, monitoring inventory levels and ensuring a steady and reliable supply chain.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with copra suppliers to foster long-term partnerships, addressing supplier concerns or issues promptly and effectively.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Agriculture, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in purchasing or procurement, particularly in the agricultural or food processing industry.
- Knowledge of copra quality standards and grading.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain management.
