Position Overview
As a Middle Years Learning Guide, you will play a pivotal role in crafting and executing transformative educational experiences. You will collaborate in the development of a Middle Years Program that fosters a passion for learning and equips students with vital skills for their future endeavors. Furthermore, you will contribute to establishing a supportive and engaging learning culture.
Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Development: Collaborate in designing and leading a comprehensive educational program for 11 to 13-year-olds, incorporating literacy, numeracy, and interdisciplinary learning experiences. Work with essential stakeholders to create an innovative, student-focused curriculum.
Learning Environment Design: Manage the creation and enhancement of stimulating learning spaces tailored to the needs of middle years students.
Parent Engagement: Act as the main contact for parent communications, providing regular updates on student achievements and program advancements.
Coaching and Mentoring: Train and mentor fellow educators to effectively implement literacy strategies and facilitate engaging learning experiences.
Collaborative Engagement: Work collaboratively within a dynamic, cross-functional team to develop and refine educational experiences. Participate in professional development sessions to support ongoing growth.
QualificationsEssential Skills and Experience:
- Educational Background: Proven experience working with 10 to 14-year-olds in innovative educational settings. Ability to connect with students and build meaningful relationships.
- Teaching Credentials: Official teaching certification recognized in Spain or another country for upper primary or lower secondary education.
- Special Education Experience: Familiarity with learning differences is advantageous.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English at a C2 level, with preference for candidates who are also fluent in Spanish or Catalan.
- Creative Approach: Ability to utilize a diverse range of educational methodologies and adapt them to suit the needs of various learners.
