Research Topic: Uncertainty-aware deep learning for parametric PDEs modeling tumor growth.

Main Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Javier del Ser, a renowned expert in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Co-supervisor: Prof. Dr. Alessandro Reali, a distinguished researcher in the field of physics-informed neural networks.
Scientific Objectives- To investigate the impact of different methodologies to incorporate physics-domain expertise on the epistemic uncertainty of neural networks.
- To develop active learning strategies that leverage expert knowledge to reduce the uncertainty in the proposed neural network model.
- To design methods to align the knowledge of the neural network with external expert annotation.
- To apply the proposed method to parametric models of tumor growth and/or road traffic models.
- Physics-aware neural network algorithm with quantifiable uncertainty propagation.
- Active learning strategies that leverage expert knowledge to reduce the uncertainty in the proposed neural network model.
- Methods to align the knowledge of the neural network with external expert annotation.
- Application of the proposed method to parametric models of tumor growth and/or road traffic models.
- 2+ peer-reviewed publications.
- 2+ participation in relevant international conferences.
Mobility: The researcher must not have resided or carried out his/her main activity in Spain for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before the recruitment date.
Doctoral Candidate: The candidate must be a doctoral candidate, not already in possession of a doctoral degree.
Exclusive Work Commitment: The candidate must agree to work exclusively for the action.
ContractFull-time Contract: The researcher will be employed on a full-time basis for a period of 36 months.
Secondments: The researcher will undergo two secondments at other consortium members' premises.
Salary: The gross salary amounts to €28,000 per year, plus a mobility allowance of €600 euro per month, and, where applicable, a family allowance of €660 per month and a special needs allowance.
