Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Hitachi Energy Spain. As a key member of our RD Team in Zaragoza, you will play a crucial role in the development of projects related to the mechanical performance of dry transformers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Propose and execute standardization projects to cover factories globally.
  • Analyze current design and processes of all factories and propose new ideas to improve productivity by introducing new technologies.
  • Understand the impact brought by changes, assess their implications, and introduce these changes into global technical, material, and/or production standards.
  • Cooperate closely with technical experts from all factories to solve technical gaps.
  • Keep track of changes with rationale, following workflows while publishing documents and using document management systems and repositories.
  • Introduce and track KPIs to monitor introduction of changes.
  • Organize training for design engineers and prepare training materials.
  • Provide punctual technical support to factories, salespeople, and customers.

Requirements

  • BSc or MSc in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering and at least 5 years' experience in dry-type transformer technologies.
  • Ability to use external (IEC, IEEE, ...) and internal standards and regulations.
  • Understanding technical documentation and drawings.
  • Ability to make technical judgments in a field of expertise.
  • Knowledge of 3D modelling (will be a plus).
  • Familiarity with document management systems (will be a plus).
  • Team working attitude, solution-oriented approach, and strong communication skills.

Language Requirements

Fluent in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
