Responsibilities

  1. Design and implement graph databases to leverage high-value use cases.
  2. Develop smart frontends to utilize graph data and facilitate business usage.
  3. Translate business requirements into graph-thinking solutions.
  4. Integrate graph techniques for innovative AI solutions.
  5. Collaborate with colleagues in a global BASF team.
  6. Work in an international and agile DevOps environment.
  7. Improve AI solutions with regards to user interfaces, graph modeling, data quality management, and adoption.
  8. Support industrialization of AI solutions.

Requirements

  1. A Master's degree in computer science, mathematics, life sciences, chemistry, or a related field with at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  2. A Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of experience in a similar role.
  3. Sound understanding and experience with graph databases, graph algorithms, and data integration at large scale in complex business networks.
  4. Practical work experience in ontology development, data schemes, and data modeling.
  5. Programming skills in Python, Cypher, and Java, preferably with Angular.
  6. Experience in data integration, ETL processes, and linked data applications.
  7. Business consulting and technical consulting skills.
  8. An entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to foster a positive and energized culture.
  9. A growth mindset with a curiosity to learn and improve.
  10. Team player with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  11. Fluent communication skills in English (spoken and written).

Nice to Have

  1. Understanding of natural sciences and/or the chemical industry.
  2. Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning software, e.g. SAP and OMP.
