Job Summary

Comgent is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Network Engineer to join our European IT team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our LAN and WAN networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Network Management
    • Design and implement LAN and WAN networks to ensure high levels of performance, security, and availability.
    • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure seamless operation.
  • System Administration
    • Manage and support Windows, Linux, and AS400 operating systems.
    • Perform system upgrades, installations, and configurations.
    • Implement and manage virtualized environments.
    • Administer MS Office365 tenant, including Teams, Exchange, and SharePoint global tenant settings.
    • Manage VmWare virtual environment and supervise backup processes (Veritas BackupExec and Veeam).
  • Cloud Management
    • Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud services.
    • Ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud solutions with on-premises infrastructure.
  • Security Management
    • Configure, manage, and maintain Checkpoint and Fortigate firewalls.
    • Implement and monitor security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
    • Conduct regular security assessments and audits.
  • Leadership and Management
    • Lead teams effectively to achieve operational goals.
    • Provide mentorship and training to junior staff.
    • Ensure adherence to best practices and company policies.
  • Help Desk Coordination
    • Oversee help desk services to ensure timely and effective support to end-users.
    • Develop and implement help desk policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior System Administrator, Infrastructure Engineer, Network Engineer, or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of LAN, WAN, and network management.
  • Expertise in Windows, Linux, and AS400 operating systems.
  • Proven experience with Azure cloud services and data center management.
  • Strong knowledge of Checkpoint and Fortigate firewall management.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • English and Spanish at a professional level; French would be a plus.
