**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Network Engineer to join our client's European IT team at Comgent. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing LAN and WAN networks, with expertise in Windows, Linux, and AS400 operating systems.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design, implement, and maintain LAN and WAN networks, ensuring high levels of performance, security, and availability.
- Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, ensuring high levels of performance, security, and availability.
- Manage and support Windows, Linux, and AS400 operating systems, including system upgrades, installations, and configurations.
- Implement and manage virtualized environments, including Ms Office365 tenant administration and VmWare virtual environment administration.
- Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud services, ensuring seamless integration and operation with on-premises infrastructure.
- Configure, manage, and maintain Checkpoint and Fortigate firewalls, implementing and monitoring security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits, demonstrating strong management capabilities and leading teams effectively to achieve operational goals.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and company policies.
- Oversee the help desk services, ensuring timely and effective support to end-users, and develop and implement help desk policies and procedures.
**Requirements**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior System Administrator, Infrastructure Engineer, Network Engineer or a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of LAN, WAN, and network management.
- Expertise in Windows, Linux, and AS400 operating systems.
- Proven experience with Azure cloud services and data center management.
- Strong knowledge of Checkpoint and Fortigate firewall management.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- English and Spanish at a professional level; French would be a plus.
