The System Chemistry Group at IMDEA Nanociencia is seeking a highly skilled postdoctoral researcher to contribute to our team's research efforts in supramolecular systems chemistry. This position is part of a European project focused on developing dissipative supramolecular polymer bundles, which will serve as an integrative platform to bring together concepts in Supramolecular Systems Chemistry and Swarm Robotics.
Main Responsibilities- Design and conduct microfluidic experiments to quantify the dynamics of single fibers consisting of supramolecular polymers.
- Utilize fast X-Ray super-resolution microscopy techniques to analyze the behavior of supramolecular polymers.
- Characterize supramolecular polymers using techniques such as nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), mass spectrometry (MS) coupled with liquid or gas chromatography (LC-MS, and GC-MS), infrared spectrometry (IR), and elemental analysis (EA) and super-resolution imaging techniques.
- Develop and implement lab-scale prototyping strategies.
- Supervise and mentor PhD and MSc students.
- Collaborate closely with the principal investigator and team members to maintain a high level of scientific productivity.
- Prepare, present, and report research results and publish scientific findings in key peer-reviewed journals.
- PhD Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Physics, or related fields.
- Strong background in light-driven systems and supramolecular chemistry.
- Hands-on experience in lab-scale prototyping and microfluidic experiments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluency in English.
