Security Risk Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Risk Management Specialist to join our team at Canonical. As a key member of our security risk management team, you will play a critical role in identifying, tracking, and reducing security risks across our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Security Risk Management Standards: Define and maintain our security risk management standards and playbooks to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
- Conduct Risk Assessments and Analysis: Analyze and improve our security risk practices, evaluate new security requirements, tools, and practices, and apply statistical models to risk frameworks.
- Lead Risk Management Initiatives: Grow the presence and thought leadership of our security risk management practice, develop security risk learning and development materials, and work with security leadership to present information and influence change.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Participate in developing key risk indicators, provide inputs to the development of key control indicators, and key performance indicators for various programs, and collaborate with our Organisational Learning and Development team to develop playbooks and facilitate security training.
- Exceptional Academic Track Record: An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling narrative about your alternative path.
- Leadership and Management Ability: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to drive and motivate teams.
- Technical Expertise: Expertise in threat modelling and risk management frameworks, with a deep technical understanding of security assessments and risk management.
- Business Acumen: Excellent business English writing and presentation skills, with the ability to interpret internal or external cyber security risk analyses in business terms and recommend a responsible course of action.
