About the Role
The Product Applications Specialist will play a key role in supporting the growth and maintenance of industry-specific applications in the Iberia region. This position will be responsible for acting as a technical expert in Cooling (CWT) treatment chemistry, with a strong focus on Cooling applications and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Employ engineering and statistical skills to conduct troubleshooting and offer data-driven solutions to Cooling (CWT) related problems in industrial facilities in the region.
- Support and perform technical audits and provide treatment recommendations in support of existing applications and new business opportunities.
- Attend customer meetings as required and present technical information to operations, engineering, and plant management.
- Identify unique market niches and product portfolio needs.
- Drive introduction of new product initiatives (NPIs) and direct material productivity improvements (DMPs) when requested.
- Conduct regular technical training sessions for the commercial and field service team and external customers to ensure application competency and product knowledge.
- Support the creation of technical content for reference manuals, customer manuals, marketing collateral, case histories, and product fact sheets.
- Work closely with commercial teams, customers, and industry contacts to evaluate, implement, and support new business initiatives.
- Support digital initiatives and optimize customer experience and commercial support through Insight.
- Participate in industry technical committees' meetings to properly represent Veolia's position.
- Stay on top of industry trends, new chemical treatment technology, monitoring and analytical tools, Cooling (CWT) treatment equipment, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations related to the CWT domain (REACH, BPR, and local regulations).
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in chemical treatment of Cooling (CWT) systems.
- Ability to travel domestically 20-40% and internationally as required.
- Strong oral communication skills, comfortable developing and delivering technical presentations to senior leaders at customer sites and within Veolia.
- Strong written communication skills, capable of writing technical documents and clearly conveying complex technical issues in a written format.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills, capable of handling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and prioritizing to meet business objectives.
Desired Characteristics
- Direct experience in Cooling (CWT) treatment chemistry and willingness to deepen knowledge and develop expertise.
- Familiarity with technical issues and regulations.
- Ability to work with or in remote cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, inclusive, and embraces teamwork.

- Demonstrates listening, questioning, clarifying, and summarizing skills to effectively communicate in 1-on-1 and small group settings.

- Fluent in Spanish and/or Portuguese and English.
