Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Marriott International. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's maintenance and repair activities.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to and attend to guest repair requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Communicate effectively with guests and colleagues to resolve maintenance issues and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubrication of equipment, and visually inspect tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
- Identify and locate shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs for buildings, and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Requisition parts and supplies as needed, and maintain a clean and organized inventory of maintenance materials.
- Communicate daily activities and any issues that arise to other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
- Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in areas such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry.
- Perform surface preparation, painting, and minor drywall and wood trim repair, as well as light bulb and A/C filter replacement.
- Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repair on equipment, plumbing, and electrical components, including lamps, cosmetic items, and extension cords.
- Program TVs and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.
- Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work, and ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
- Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures, and report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years of experience in maintenance and repair, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance and repair principles, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders, and reach overhead and below the knees.
- Ability to enter and locate work-related information using computers.
