Job Title: R&D Transformer Design, Diagnostic And Tests Domain Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Transformer Design, Diagnostic and Tests Domain Expert to join our Transformers Global Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for running standardization projects, proposing and developing new engineering and life cycle assessment concepts around new services, and simulating their expected performance in real pilots.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Run standardization projects to develop new engineering and life cycle assessment concepts around new services.
  • Propose and develop new concepts to improve transformer design and testing.
  • Organize prototyping and testing activities to validate new and existing transformer services.
  • Develop standard policies, instructions, and training material to ensure the effective implementation of targeted processes from engineering, quality, and knowledge transfer standpoints.
  • Provide support to other team members and local units as needed.
  • Participate in and assist team members in complex operations activities.
  • Collaborate with scientists from Hitachi Energy Research team and Technology Centers, Technology Managers, and Engineers from various GPGs (Service/PT/DT).
Your Background:
  • Master's degree in engineering with a major in electrical engineering, physics, or a similar field.
  • More than 5 years of proven experience in electrical design, condition assessment, and testing of power transformers.
  • Experience with advanced numerical simulations, proficiency in commercial simulation tools (Ansys, Infolytica), and proven experience in transformer condition assessment and testing.
  • Spirit of innovation, out of the box thinking, excellent teamwork skills, high self-motivation, and strong communication skills.
  • Fluent spoken and written English, with other languages being an advantage.
