Job Title: Financial Controller

Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial reporting, as well as providing financial analysis and insights to support business decisions.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic accounting and financial reporting in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Analyze and investigate variances, summarize data, information, and trends.
  • Coordinate and perform month-end closing.
  • Prepare and maintain the accounting records of all MOHG entities associated with Hotel Ritz Madrid.
  • Respond to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting data for all financial reporting entities.
  • Develop financial statements as and when required.
  • Assist the Assistant Financial Controller in the budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Monitor Expense Management approach for any operation activities in all departments to ensure optimal efficiency and best performance has been considered.
  • Monitor departmental internal controls and create and implement Operating procedures as necessary.
  • Coordinate the submission of periodic MOHG reports (daily, weekly, and monthly).
  • Coordinate all CSAQ and ISAQ submissions and carry out respective follow-up.
  • Provide adequate training, appraisals, and coaching to team members of his/her area of responsibility in line with MOHG Standards.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) emphasizing an overall extensive understanding of the applicable business and accounting issues, and technical accounting and financial reporting standards.
  • Solid knowledge of bookkeeping competencies.
  • Strong Level of Proficiency in Excel; ability to assemble, analyze, understand integrated spreadsheets, and complex technical information.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Experience in Financial Accountant, Audit Services, or similar role.
  • Prioritization skills; ability to meet deadlines and problem-solving.
  • Negotiation and Communication skills.
