Position Overview
In the role of Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing quality initiatives at the Barcelona Site, which encompass various areas such as quality assurance, manufacturing process quality, management of non-conforming materials, document oversight, new product introduction, and returns management.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management System (QMS) support:
- Assist in the maintenance of the QMS, including documentation review (Quality Assurance Plans, Standard Operating Procedures) and updates.
- Support documentation control activities as required.
- Engage in process design and continuous improvement projects as necessary (lean methodologies, 5S, six sigma).
Management of Non-conforming Material Process:
- Serve as the quality representative in weekly Material Review Boards, initiating escalations when necessary.
- Coordinate actions for product disposal (in-house reworks, supplier reworks, returns to vendor, scrap transactions).
- Generate non-conformance reports and assist in the corrective action process utilizing an 8D format.
Gather and analyze data to evaluate process performance and track key performance indicators in alignment with Quality Objectives.
Contribute to the Product Development Process for New Product Introductions (NPI) and New System Introductions (NSI) by supporting the execution of quality-related deliverables, including Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and control plan design.
Oversee the Product Return process: manage customer communications (technical discussions as necessary) and participate in troubleshooting efforts.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment within Quality or Production functions.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards.
- Knowledge of REACH and RoHS regulations is advantageous.
- Experience with circuit board fabrication and assembly is preferred.
