Job Overview:

Dentons is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our tax practice operations. As the Head of Tax, you will be responsible for providing high-caliber tax solutions to our Partners, acting as a business adviser and producing high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner Income Tax and Income Sourcing:
  • Develop and implement income sourcing policies to ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with external advisors on local developments and provide support during tax audits to ensure seamless operations.
  • Manage tax compliance for partners in various countries, including monitoring tax payments and ensuring timely submissions.
  • Work closely with local teams to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Manage the preparation of K-1 equivalents for US nationals to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Coordination of Europe-Wide Tax Projects:
  • Implement and oversee post-implementation of transfer pricing policies and documentation, including recharges of fees and costs across offices.
  • Provide withholding tax support to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Offer VAT support to local offices and assist with EDGE implementation to ensure seamless operations.
  • Ensure compliance with Mandatory Disclosure Rules to avoid any potential risks.
  • Address mobility issues to ensure smooth operations.
  • Tax Structuring:
  • Handle tax structuring for growth and restructuring initiatives to ensure optimal tax efficiency.
  • Support local and European finance teams, including providing training to ensure effective tax planning.
  • Tax Compliance and Planning:
  • Oversee tax compliance for group entities to ensure timely submissions and accurate reporting.
  • Engage in tax planning and tax risk mitigation to ensure optimal tax efficiency.
  • Partner Accounting:
  • Maintain partner capital and current accounts to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Implement partner distribution policies to ensure fair and transparent distribution.
  • Monitor partner payments and collaborate with the Treasury team on cash flow planning to ensure seamless operations.
  • Provide support to Management, the Europe Board, and the Europe Compensation Committee to ensure effective decision-making.
  • Coordinate with the group consolidation team and external auditors to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Requirements:

  • Adequate professional qualifications to ensure expertise in tax laws and regulations.
  • Approximately 10 years of professional experience, preferably within the professional services or legal industry, to ensure relevant expertise.
  • Expert-level understanding of relevant tax laws and regulations, with strong knowledge of accounting standards to ensure optimal tax efficiency.
  • Proven track record of handling tax issues in a European environment to ensure effective tax planning.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting standards to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong business relationship-building capabilities, and the ability to handle change with ease to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Analytical thinking and the ability to navigate within a complex business environment to ensure optimal tax efficiency.
