General Accounting & Tax Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled General Accounting & Tax Manager to join our finance team at WTW, an inclusive employer and a member of myGwork. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of general accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance for our local operations in Spain.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the general accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of financial statements in accordance with local and US GAAPs and company policy.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and manage the preparation and filing of taxes (corporate income tax, VAT, transfer pricing, etc.).
  • Develop and implement a tax strategy including ways to minimize tax liability and alleviate or reduce tax burden.
  • Research and interpret tax laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate and manage audits, both internal and external, ensuring all financial records and reports are accurate and compliant.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, including training, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and provide financial insights.
  • Monitor changes in accounting and tax regulations, assess their impact on the company and implement necessary changes.
  • Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial consultants.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and tax management, preferably in a multinational environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of local and US GAAPs and tax regulations.
  • Proficient in English (mandatory).
  • Proficient in MS-Excel and Database (mandatory).
  • Proficiency in accounting software – Oracle is preferred.
