About the Role

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a skilled Engineering Operations Technician to join our team. As a key member of our data center operations team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within our data centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment to ensure 99.999% uptime.
  • Maintain and monitor all data center systems, including incidents, events, problems, changes, and monitoring.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, voice/data, chiller systems, and generators.
  • Provide assistance to contractors or data center engineers to ensure proper operation and maintenance of all facility equipment.
  • Perform site walkthroughs to verify proper operation of facility equipment and monitoring systems.
Requirements
  • Ability to solve problems through root-cause elimination and trouble-shooting complex issues.
  • Aptitude for maintaining service level agreements (SLAs) through proactive issue detection and immediate response.
  • Ability to follow procedures, system documentation, and track issues through appropriate entries into a Trouble Ticket system.
  • Prioritize appropriately in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to take ownership for technical issues brought by the customer base.
