About Embention

At Embention, we are a leading provider of avionics solutions for the unmanned aerial systems (UAS) industry. Our mission is to enable the safe and efficient operation of drones in various applications.

We have a team of over 60 engineers with multiple specialities, working together to develop high-performance software and critical components for our customers in 70 countries.

We are now looking to expand our team with a skilled Hardware Design Engineer to join our Avionics department.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of avionics hardware, from conceptual design to commissioning. This will involve analysis and definition of hardware requirements, design of hardware architectures, and validation and verification of functionalities for hardware/software integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop avionics hardware, including PCBs and electronic components
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, bills of materials, and production files
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure hardware meets software and system requirements
  • Conduct environmental and EMC testing, and ensure compliance with relevant standards
  • Develop and implement high-reliability designs, redundancy, and fault-tolerant systems
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our products and processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in electronic engineering, telecommunications engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in environmental and EMC testing, and high-reliability designs
  • Knowledge of power electronics, high-speed PCB design, and thermal and EMI/EMC analysis
  • Experience with COTS, automotive, space, and military electronic components
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with ability to interact with other disciplines
