Purchasing Manager

Altorecruit is proud to partner with companies at the forefront of their industries. We are currently assisting a dynamic organization based in Barcelona, specializing in the distribution of chemical products, plastic raw materials, specialities, and commodities. With a strong international presence, this company seeks a Purchasing Manager to drive their procurement strategy and contribute to their continued growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and propose the procurement strategy for plastics and chemicals, working closely with other departments such as Sales, Logistics, and Accounting, with defined objectives and timelines.
- Lead and manage the purchasing operations for plastics and chemicals in line with the approved strategy.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers while seeking and establishing connections with new suppliers.
- Optimize the organization of the Purchasing department and ensure smooth coordination with other departments.
- Propose and implement organizational and operational improvements to enhance efficiency and competitiveness.
Requirements:
- Education: University degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering is mandatory.
- Languages: Proficiency in English is essential, and French is highly valued.
- IT Skills: Competent user of standard office applications.
- Personal Attributes: Rigorous and organized, self-motivated with a high degree of autonomy, strong negotiation skills, empathetic team leader with the ability to motivate and foster cohesion within the department, excellent communicator and a team player.
- Experience: Proven experience in the chemical or plastics industry, either in raw materials, processes, or machinery, on a national and international level. Specific experience in purchasing plastics and chemicals is highly valued.
Additional Information:
- Willingness to travel (to suppliers, fairs, etc.) as required.
- Candidates who slightly deviate from the profile will also be considered.
- Reports to the General Director.
