About the Role
Irb Barcelona is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Fellow to join our structural bioinformatics team in the Molecular Modeling and Bioinformatics group. The successful candidate will work on theoretical computational studies of nucleic acids, involving programming new algorithms and scientific workflows, using classical and quantum mechanics methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement new computational methods for nucleic acid research
- Collaborate with experimental biophysicists and molecular biologists to design and analyze experiments
- Work with high-performance computing infrastructures to optimize simulations and analysis
- Develop and maintain automated tools for parameterization of nucleic acids derivatives
Requirements
- PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Computational Sciences, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, or Biomedicine
- Experience in computational Molecular Dynamics (MD) technique, including simulations and analysis with AMBER, GROMACS, and OpenMM
- Experience in High Performance Computing infrastructures, including workload managers and remote connections
- Excellent Linux OS skills and proficiency in shell and scripting languages
- Fluent English and good teamwork skills
Desirable Skills
- Experience in computational Quantum Mechanics (QM) technique, including simulations and analysis with Gaussian and GAMESS
