About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Applied Scientist to join our Shopping Discovery & Evaluation team at Amazon. As a trusted member of our technical leadership, you will bring business and industry context to science and technology decisions, setting the standard for scientific excellence and making decisions that impact the way we build and integrate algorithms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define key research directions and adopt or invent new machine learning techniques
  • Conduct rigorous experiments, publish results, and ensure research is translated into practice
  • Develop long-term strategies, persuade teams to adopt those strategies, propose goals, and deliver on them
  • Participate in organizational planning, hiring, mentorship, and leadership development
