Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Threat Intelligence Management team at Splunk. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering software solutions that support our security analysts worldwide.

About the Role

In this role, you will lead the development of software that meets the ever-increasing scalability, performance, and security requirements of our threat intelligence platform. You will work closely with Product Management, UX, and Customers to shape the roadmap and build solutions that help customers detect and protect against cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve a deep understanding of our product architecture, usage patterns, and real-world use cases to identify solutions that bring value to our customers.
  • Develop and architect software, build new product features, and clarify and improve designs using Agile Methodologies.
  • Support the sprint management process and communicate effectively with peers, managers, and other teams.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and team members to design and create comprehensive end-to-end user workflows.
  • Ensure product quality by utilizing Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) and testing technologies, and providing DevOps support for production services in our cloud infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Java or Python with at least 5 years of related experience and a technical Bachelor's degree; or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience building and architecting web applications, services, and APIs.
  • Experience with cloud service providers (AWS/GCP).
  • Familiarity with streaming and distributed computing technologies such as Kafka.
  • Exposure to working with container ecosystems (Docker, Kubernetes, Kubernetes Operator Framework).
  • Knowledge of distributed computing architectures and principles that solve for scalability, performance, redundancy, and reliability.
  • Experience with an Agile DevOps engineering environment that effectively uses CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Bitbucket, etc.).
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and understand a wide variety of technical challenges to be solved.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to prepare documentation and presentations.
