As a Quality Assurance Project Engineer, you will create and design comprehensive project test plans to validate project requirements and functional specifications. You will develop test cases as outlined in the project test plan and enhance test specifications by identifying root causes of technical challenges, subsequently crafting testing solutions. Your role will involve interacting with clients to gather insights for project testing. You will serve as a Technical Lead, mentoring junior engineers and working independently on complex projects, exercising your judgment and expertise across multiple product lines. Siemens Industry Software is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to support our ongoing global expansion. This position offers a unique chance to engage throughout the software life cycle of our premier CAE/CFD tool, Simcenter STAR-CCM+. You will play a vital role in preparing test plans, formulating test cases, reviewing testing checklists, and validating the solutions provided by our development teams. Your meticulous attention to detail will be essential for executing, monitoring, and triaging regression tests regularly, while your experience will contribute to enhancing test coverage, tools, and processes.

The Quality Assurance Engineer will document all identified issues and work towards their resolution, providing management with updates on progress. Effective communication with local team members, global team leads, project managers, software developers, and management regarding issues is crucial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate new product functionalities.
  • Develop and document test plans and procedures to ensure our software products meet established functionality and performance criteria.
  • Implement software testing strategies, including executing system, integration, and unit testing to meet quality standards.
  • Conduct product testing, documenting and communicating the results effectively.
  • Provide detailed reports on software defects, communicate risks to team leads, and follow up with stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Develop automated testing procedures and programs to enhance certification efforts.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives for the Quality team.
  • Collaborate on plans for overall quality enhancement, securing signoff from all relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate in projects aimed at improving our investment in various testing frameworks.
  • Work effectively with a globally distributed team.
  • Engage actively in cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with other development areas to enhance fault prevention earlier in the development process.
  • Represent Quality Assurance in testing projects.

Required Skills:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the CFD / CAE sector.
  • Familiarity with commercial CAD software such as NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, 3D-CAD, or Ansys Design Modeler.
  • Strong understanding of modeling concepts and geometry preparation.
  • Knowledge of CFD workflows and experience in preprocessing.
  • General experience in preparing, executing simulations, and post-processing results in CFD software.
  • Programming skills (knowledge/experience with JAVA, C++, and scripting languages).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Hands-on experience with STAR-CCM+ CFD Software.
  • Experience with commercial CAD software such as NX, CATIA, CREO.
  • Familiarity with STAR-CCM+ CAD clients.
  • Ability to preprocess (CAD cleanup) geometry for CFD analysis.
  • Additional experience with Ansys or other commercial CFD packages is advantageous but not mandatory.
