About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Pastry Sous Chef to join our pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for supporting our all-day dining business, offering breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and other dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our Executive Pastry Chef to ensure our Pastry kitchen continues to excel in producing creative and innovative products.
  • Operate as an effective team player, both hands-on in the Pastry kitchen and supporting the Executive Pastry Chef in line managing the team and supporting the entire brigade.
  • Maintain a can-do and problem-solving attitude, with a passion for delivering the highest possible standards and a keen eye for detail.
  • Interact with our guests, providing warm, professional, and helpful service, exceeding their expectations and contributing to a 5-star experience.
  • Develop and implement delicious, creative, and bespoke flavors and creations for our guests' tables.
  • Ensure seamless operation, with orders and deliveries managed efficiently, service running smoothly, and food hygiene standards consistently high.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years' experience as a Pastry Sous Chef in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel/restaurant.
  • Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
  • Passion for Pastry, with a strong desire to continue learning from the best in the business.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building positive relationships with colleagues and guests.
  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a willingness to support and contribute to the success of the team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
