Overview of the Position
The Senior Network Engineer will be an integral part of our skilled EMEA network team, reporting directly to the regional head of Networks. This role is essential in addressing our current and future business connectivity needs, collaborating with network service providers and various internal teams, including Network Security, Cloud Operations, and Advanced Operations, to create and maintain a scalable, secure, and resilient connectivity framework. We seek an individual who is enthusiastic about tool optimization and automation, with a proven track record in implementing and supporting SDWAN solutions.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Network Engineer, your primary duties will include:
- Engaging with internal stakeholders to establish requirements and design specifications for dynamic network solutions across business and network projects.
- Evaluating proposals and quotations from internal and external suppliers, ensuring technical validation aligns with company technology standards.
- Proactively identifying opportunities for functional and process enhancements through automation and network detection methods.
- Assisting in troubleshooting efforts related to SDWAN, WAN, LAN, and wireless network technical challenges.
- Supporting governance and enhancements in capacity, demand, release, lifecycle, change, and incident management from a network perspective.
- Offering guidance and recommendations on SDWAN and automation solutions to the Network team.
- Documenting network environments and developing and implementing network policy documents.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Senior Network Engineer position will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Over 5 years of experience in network engineering roles.
- A comprehensive understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, and core technologies such as TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, ACLs, IPSEC, and DNS.
- Knowledge of WAN/LAN Network Architecture and Operations, including Firewalls, Routers, and Switches.
- Prior experience in the design, deployment, and support of SD-WAN solutions, preferably with CISCO or PaloAlto.
- Strong knowledge of network security technologies, including NAC (preferably CISCO), firewalls, and VPNs (preferably PaloAlto).
- Experience in optimizing network monitoring, logging, and anomaly detection tools such as Netbrain, Extrahop, Splunk, Dynatrace, and Thousandeyes.
- Proficiency in scripting and API utilization, ideally with Python, Xsoar, or ServiceNow.
- A demonstrated ability to develop and implement enterprise-grade network infrastructure that is efficient, scalable, resilient, and secure.
- Experience in resolving complex connectivity issues in both cloud and traditional network environments, including packet captures and network tracing.
- Experience working within a geographically distributed IT team across multiple time zones.
