Bioprocess Scientist - Innovation & Technology Development

Panda International is seeking a highly skilled Bioprocess Scientist to join our Innovation & Technology Development team in Barcelona, Spain. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a central role in designing new processes for the manufacturing of APIs, collaborating with partners and CROs, and leading laboratory trials for the development and optimization of biocatalytic transformations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design new processes for the production of new pipeline APIs
  • Design and execute laboratory research while overseeing work done by technicians
  • Project planning and management to achieve deadlines
  • Technology transfer to manufacturing site collaborating with Tech Ops team for a successful process implementation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate enzymatic processes into overall drug development pipelines
  • Lead collaborations with partners and CROs with a deep understanding of technologies applied
  • Ensure compliance with GMP and Safety regulations in all activities
  • Monitor internal and external developments in the biocatalysis field for applicability, including benchmarking of the technology against competitors by performing literature and IP searches
Requirements:
  • PhD in biocatalysis, biochemistry, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in process development in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry
  • Deep understanding of enzyme technology, bioconversion, and enzyme purification techniques
  • Advanced level of English language (written and spoken)
  • Knowledge of GMP
  • Foster strong collaborative relationships

  • Leadership skills
