Position: Clinical Research Assistant
Location: Barcelona

Our global Clinical Operations team within the PPD clinical research services provides comprehensive support for clinical trials, from initiation to monitoring and finalization, across both commercial and governmental contracts. Together, we assist clients in defining and executing clinical programs, minimizing delays, and conducting high-quality, cost-effective clinical studies.
We are expanding our Clinical Operations team in Spain and are seeking a Clinical Research Assistant based in Barcelona.
Main Responsibilities:
- Execute study and site management tasks as outlined in the task matrix, as applicable and directed for assigned studies.
- Complete and document training specific to the study. Provide orientation and training on any relevant CRG/study-specific systems.
- Offer in-house support during pre-study evaluations.
- Review study data from various sources remotely.
- Assist site personnel as needed.
- Facilitate the collection, review, and updating of Essential Documents in systems.
- Verify the status of document collection and drive actions for any missing, incomplete, or expired documents, as directed.
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor's Degree in a life science-related field or a relevant combination of education, training, and experience that equips the individual with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Previous clinical research experience (approximately 1 year) is preferred, along with knowledge of clinical monitoring through academic training that provides the required competencies.
In certain cases, experience in a clinical setting, such as clinical trials, data management, medical terminology, or health sciences, may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic understanding of medical/therapeutic areas and medical terminology.
- Ability to maintain a working knowledge of ICH GCP, applicable regulations, and PPD clinical research services procedural documents.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in English and Spanish is essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to detail, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team or independently as required.
- Well-developed critical thinking skills, including root cause analysis and problem-solving.
- Proficient in computer skills with a solid understanding of MS Office and the ability to learn and utilize relevant software.
- Ability to extract relevant information from all study documents, electronic study data systems, CTMS, and dashboards.
