Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Advisor to join our team. As a Cyber Security Advisor, you will play a critical role in advising in-house stakeholders on complex cyber security solutions and coordinating the implementation of security projects to improve the security level of BASF.
Responsibilities
• Advise on the evaluation of security requirements in consultation with all strategic business areas, ensuring that security standards are aligned with industry best practices.
• Support the development of security standards that apply to all technologies in the IT and product portfolio, ensuring that security is integrated into every aspect of our business.
• Initiate security projects and serve as a professional caretaker for such projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget.
• Engage in active knowledge exchange and collaboration across teams within the IT organization, sharing best practices and expertise to drive security excellence.
• Communicate and coordinate with various internal stakeholders and communities to raise awareness for security during solution design and to add value for the business strategy.
• Steer suppliers to ensure compliance with BASF security requirements, conduct escalation and solution of security breaches and deviations, and participate in industry networks of colleagues to discuss special topics and developments.
• Integrate the findings of those discussions into evaluations and participate in relationship management with external institutions and communities, such as governmental agencies, authorities, and press.
• Develop and evaluate measures to reduce identified security risks, which have been construed from future threats, and evaluate possibilities to improve business and innovations through secure technologies, integrating them into strategic business requirements.
• Evaluate various innovative technologies with reference to security in business environments, such as the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data & Cyber Security analytics, and Cloud, and apply, and advise on the security strategy with different internal stakeholders and multiplicators.
Qualifications
• Degree or comparable in the field of IT, such as Business Informatics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, IT Security, or Mathematics.
• Professional experience: at least 3 years in comparable positions.
• Practical experience: fast comprehension, strong conceptual and analytical skills, and a sense for situational solutions, cyber security architecture and consulting skills and experience, and strong technical knowledge and fundamentals of IT/OT security.
