Our Data Platform
Our data platform is a critical component of our business, providing high-quality and available data to all Qontoers and data teams. The platform covers three key functions: governance, ingestion, and data modeling. We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer to join our team and lead the development of our centralized data platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach and Grow Your Team: Lead a team of 5 data engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Lead the Data Engineering Roadmap: Ensure project deliverables align with business objectives and timelines.
- Assume a People Leadership Role and Bring Technical Vision: Map and set up data governance, ensure all data pipelines provide high-quality and fresh data to all Qontoers, and maintain a performant data model.
- Scale Our Airflow Monolith: Split it into a module approach.
- Create Real-Time Data Products: Craft a streaming platform that leverages innovative technical solutions.
- Simplify and Automate Data Ingestion: For Qonto.
- Decrease Data Ingestion Incidents: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, increase data documentation, and discoverability.
Requirements
- People Management: Strong leadership experience, managing data engineers, software engineers, or Analytics Engineers.
- Mastery: Familiarity with data pipeline tools (airflow, dbt, etc.), stream-processing platforms (Kafka, Spark, Flow) modern data architectures, and data governance processes.
- Leadership: Natural leadership with the ability to influence and drive initiatives across teams.
- Simplicity and Quality: Prefer simple solutions and are obsessed with quality.
- Languages: Fluent in English. French is a plus.
