Overview

TomTom is on the lookout for a proficient Senior Technical Project Leader to enhance our Map Platform software engineering team. As a frontrunner in geolocation technologies, we provide a stimulating environment for innovation and the opportunity to engage with state-of-the-art technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Complex Initiatives: Propel intricate technological initiatives to fulfill organizational goals, fostering momentum and collective agreement within the team to successfully deliver the program or product.
  • Align Technical Programs: Ensure the technical initiative aligns with business objectives, collaborating closely with Engineering Managers and Product Managers to streamline and clarify complex dependencies and technical environments.
  • System-Level Operations: Operate at a system-wide level, customizing the strategy to the distinct context and requirements of each initiative, while taking responsibility for critical decisions and driving them to fruition.
  • Program Management: Oversee the execution of the program from inception to conclusion, including key milestones, progress tracking, essential metrics, risk management, challenges, escalations, costs, technical choices, and trade-offs, ensuring timely and transparent communication with key stakeholders.
  • Support Roadmap Planning: Assist in the planning process for the product roadmap.
  • Manage Technical Risks: Take charge of program-level technical risks, guiding technical decision-making across diverse teams.
  • Facilitate Communication: Serve as a communication bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering productive internal relationships, promoting cross-departmental collaboration, and generating focused reports.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering and architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience in guiding teams through complex projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of contemporary project management methodologies and best practices, including systems thinking and evidence-based management.
  • Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in conflict resolution and solution-oriented approaches.
  • Dedication to continuous learning and staying abreast of industry developments.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities to cultivate positive relationships.
