We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at EMBL's European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) in the field of cancer research. The successful candidate will work on a project using human organoid models to understand how hypoxia, nicotine, and genetic perturbations influence the plasticity of pulmonary neuroendocrine cells and their susceptibility to cancer.
Key Responsibilities- Design and execute experiments using human organoid models to investigate the effects of hypoxia, nicotine, and genetic perturbations on pulmonary neuroendocrine cells.
- Conduct single-cell -omics analysis to identify key drivers of cancer progression.
- Collaborate with clinicians and environmental epidemiologists to integrate experimental findings with clinical data.
- Develop and maintain advanced bioinformatic tools to analyze large-scale datasets.
- Contribute to the development of genetically engineered human organoid models of neuroendocrine cancer.
- PhD and/or MD or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant field.
- Demonstration of expertise in the form of published paper(s) or preprints.
- Strong practical skills in primary cell culture and advanced gene editing techniques.
- Ability to prioritize, see the big picture, and focus on details.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
