Your Role
Are you ready to embrace a new challenge as the Maintenance Engineering Manager for Tramways? In this pivotal role, you will leverage your maintenance expertise in a cutting-edge environment, collaborating with a team of skilled professionals.
Alstom operates a complete Tramway system, with a history of excellence since 2004. We are responsible for maintaining two significant networks, Trambaix and Trambesos , covering approximately 30 kilometers and managing 41 trams, alongside an innovative Aesthetic Power System that boasts nearly 100% availability.
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the reliability and availability of Rolling Stock, Signaling, and Power systems. You will engage closely with various teams across the organization to achieve this goal.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate Engineering Technical Issues meetings and ensure follow-up on action items.
- Prepare for and participate in meetings addressing contractual failures.
- Generate clear and concise technical documentation, including specifications, test procedures, modification instructions, maintenance and safety guidelines, and technical reports.
- Regularly review all Maintenance, Reliability, Overhaul, and related documents to maintain accuracy and compliance.
- Serve as a technical expert, continuously enhancing your knowledge in your field.
- Propose and define the integration of technology such as HealthHub (Catenary Tracer, Track Tracer, Point Machine Tracer, Train Tracer, etc.).
- Develop local repair capabilities in Barcelona, particularly in electronic repairs.
- Demonstrate the business case for localizing maintenance activities, including corrective and overhaul tasks.
- Address client inquiries received through correspondence or monthly reports.
- Support the optimization of maintenance schedules and repair procedures based on operational feedback, including justifying inspection frequencies and specifying materials and tools.
- Assist in producing and optimizing the lifecycle cost (LCC) for preventive, corrective, and overhaul maintenance.

Candidate Profile
We prioritize passion and attitude over extensive experience. While we do not expect you to possess every skill, the following qualifications will enhance your success in this role:
- Recognized engineering qualification.
- Proficiency in Spanish (high level) and technical English.
- Strong coordination and management skills.
- Experience with Rolling Stock Warranty.
- Comprehensive knowledge of railway systems.
- Previous experience with lifecycle costs.
- Understanding of railway maintenance requirements and associated costs.
- Background in vehicle reliability and safety engineering, preferably within the railway sector.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Resilience and a strong work ethic.
- No requirement for safety-critical work experience.
