Your Responsibilities

  • While the product designer ensures usability and the engineers ensure feasibility, the product manager is responsible for ensuring that the solution is both valuable and viable.
  • This entails that the product manager must bring to the product team a solid understanding of various business constraints – including those from marketing, sales, service, finance, legal, and privacy. Additionally, the product manager must provide the team with deep insights into our users and customers, as well as data regarding customer engagement with our products. Furthermore, the product manager is expected to monitor industry trends and the competitive landscape relevant to their product.
  • While each member of the product team may be accountable for specific risks, we seek product managers who recognize that consistent innovation stems from each team member contributing their passion and ideas. The product manager must collaborate closely with the product designer and engineers to uncover effective solutions and work together to bring those solutions to market.
  • While we empower our product teams to determine the best solutions to the problems at hand, we also hold those teams accountable for the outcomes. Shipping is essential, but not sufficient. We look for product managers who are willing to take responsibility for results, even when this requires working through others to achieve the necessary outcomes.
  • This position, like other roles on the product team, is an individual contributor role. You will need to influence your teammates, as well as colleagues, stakeholders, and key executives, through data-driven insights and logical reasoning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven understanding of modern product discovery and delivery techniques and methods.
  • At least 2 years of experience working on technology-driven products in roles such as product manager, product designer, engineer, data analyst, data scientist, or user researcher.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn about multiple functional areas of business – including engineering, design, finance, sales, or marketing.
  • Proven capability to devise solutions to complex problems with numerous constraints, using sound judgment to evaluate risks, and to present your arguments in a well-structured, data-informed written narrative.
  • Established ability to engage constructively and collaboratively with engineers, designers, and company leaders.
