Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled professional to oversee the flood modelling initiatives that drive EarthScan, our advanced platform designed to provide critical insights into climate-related risks for investment and reporting purposes. Your expertise in coastal and riverine flood modelling will be essential in helping clients navigate the complexities of climate change impacts on their assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Assume technical leadership of Mitiga's flood models, collaborating with both product and scientific teams to establish a strategic development roadmap for our flood-related offerings.
- Direct efforts to enhance and validate our proprietary flood models, ensuring they meet the highest standards of accuracy and reliability.
- Explore and assess third-party datasets that can augment our existing capabilities, particularly in relation to pluvial flooding.
- Facilitate the technical integration of external datasets into our current technological framework.
- Provide guidance to our Impact team on effective methods for incorporating flood risk into our assessments and calculations.
- Serve as the primary expert on flooding inquiries, both internally and for our clients.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in the application of flood modelling and risk assessment techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of flood modelling principles and their practical application in risk assessments.
- Understanding of the influence of climate change on flood risk is preferred.
- A proven history of delivering comprehensive flood risk analyses to clients, providing clear and actionable insights.
- A hands-on approach, actively engaging in the modelling process alongside a collaborative team.
- Strong analytical skills with a data-driven mindset to inform decision-making processes.
- Exceptional communication abilities, capable of translating complex technical concepts into understandable terms for diverse audiences.
- Proficient problem-solving skills, adept at navigating ambiguous project requirements to develop effective solutions.
