Job Description:

Project Overview

The project is a collaborative effort between Dr. Fernando Pastor and Dr. Puri Fortes, building on previous work from both groups. The project focuses on the identification and characterization of natural and artificial RNA structured elements that exert regulatory functions in cancer. These novel RNA structured elements will be harnessed for cancer therapeutics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • RNA structure screening using different variants of SELEX
  • Massive high-throughput performance of RNA at different levels (PARIS, RNAseq, scRNAseq)
  • Validation of such structured elements in cell culture

Candidate Requirements:

  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals interested in the area of research related to RNA structure and function with translational potential in cancer therapeutics
  • Laboratory experience in molecular and cellular biology techniques
  • Ph.D. degree
  • At least one publication as first author in a Q1 journal
  • Excellent communication skills (English C1 level)
