Clinical Data Engineer

Bayer is a global leader in the life sciences industry, and we're seeking a highly skilled Clinical Data Engineer to join our team. As a Clinical Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing data solutions that support our clinical trials and research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Programming Support: Collaborate with key stakeholders to provide technical programming support during setup, conduct, and closeout activities.
- Data Structures Definitions: Develop and maintain study-level data structures definitions, ensuring quality and standards adherence.
- Data Transformation and Loading: Design and implement data transformation programs, load data into clinical data environments, and perform data quality checks.
- Data Provisioning and Information Flow: Ensure seamless data provisioning and information flow within clinical data environments.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with study teams, functional representatives, and other stakeholders to ensure a sound understanding of technical platforms and standardized solutions.
- Quality and Compliance: Ensure adherence to program development, validation, and maintenance principles, producing high-quality data in line with SOPs, OIs, and Best Practice Documents.
- Documentation and Reporting: Complete all documentation associated with programming tasks, including validation and report specifications, in compliance with applicable SOPs and IOs.
- Project Management: Estimate time and resources needed to complete assignments, track work progress, and provide status reports to line managers and study team representatives.
- Education and Experience: Master's or Bachelor's degree in a natural science, statistics, computer science, or a related field, with 3-5 years of experience in a technical environment, focusing on data warehousing and/or ETL activities.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data warehousing principles, technologies, and related ETL processes, as well as experience with metadata repositories, programming languages (PL/SQL, JAVA, SAS, C#), and relational databases (SQL and Oracle PL/SQL).
- Knowledge and Certifications: Familiarity with clinical data structures (CDISC standards for CDASH, SDTM, and ADaM), comprehensive software validation activities, and excellent oral and written communication skills in a global environment.
