We are seeking a highly skilled Visual Storyteller and Team Lead to join our team at Skydance. As a Layout Lead Artist, you will play a crucial role in bringing our stories to life by generating previz of our films in accordance with our established storytelling guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Constructing Shots: You will be responsible for creating 3D shots in space to provide a visual run-through of our sets, ensuring that our characters and environments appear on camera as intended.
- Storytelling and Cinematic Vision: You will communicate the story based on our storyboards and give a cinematic aspect to our scenes, bringing our vision to life.
- Scene Layout and Character Blocking: You will aid in the rough layout of our scenes following the storyboards, utilizing storyboard animatics to create 3D scenes through character blocking and acting.
- Visual Storytelling and Team Leadership: You will lead our team, providing them with support, guidance, and instruction in areas that contribute to their artistic and professional growth, ensuring that all assets meet our quality standards and artistic direction.
- Staying Current with Technology: You will stay up-to-date with current technology trends and tools (hardware and software) that best suit our production and company, contributing to the development of a stronger creative technical environment.
- Professional Experience: 6 years of professional experience in VFX or animation industries.
- Leadership Experience: At least 1 year of experience as Lead in the animation industry.
- Artistic and Technical Aptitude: Strong artistic or/and technical aptitude related to 3D animation is a must.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of photography and storytelling, experience in Maya, Premiere, and Shotgun, and Linux experience is a plus.
- Language Skills: Advanced English level, and Spanish oral and written skills are desirable.
