About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Amazon's Central Operations team as an Area Manager, where you will play a key role in driving performance and ensuring standard processes are followed for all daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team to drive performance and execute daily operations, ensuring all required tasks are completed on time and adhering to standard practices.
  • Monitor and report on daily and weekly performances, identifying trends and gaps in performance metrics and taking corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement processes and systems to achieve metrics, often requiring scrappy solutions to temporarily overcome technical limitations.
  • Create and drive scalable standard work that enables remote support of a complex business area.
  • Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives through quantitative analysis and data-driven decision making.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and experience in direct-to-customer fulfillment operations, with excellent technical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience defining projects, collecting requirements, designing process solutions, and managing high levels of ambiguity.
  • Qualifications in Engineering, Operations, or related fields, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience with performance metrics and process improvement, with demonstrable problem-solving skills and analytical skills.
  • Ability to change and adapt as the business grows, with excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Direct management experience for employees and their performance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
  • Management experience in a manufacturing, production, or distribution environment.
  • Experience leading process improvements through Lean process, Kaizen, and Six Sigma.
  • Strong communication skills in English (public speaking and writing).
  • Working knowledge of SQL/ETL and visualization tools like Tableau.
