Job Summary

Ansys is seeking a talented R&D Engineer to contribute to the development of backend components and web frontends in the area of mechanical simulation software. In this role, the R&D Engineer will participate in the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of next-generation applications for the management and calibration of material models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain software modules and sub-systems
  • Understand and employ best practices
  • Perform bug verification, release testing, and beta support for assigned products
  • Research and develop solutions for problems discovered by QA or product support
  • Work under the general supervision of a development manager

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Natural Science
  • Academic, research, or industry experience in software development
  • Good knowledge and experience in programming with Python and familiarity with C++
  • Experience in Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), or CAD modeling
  • Passion for understanding complex problems and crafting innovative technical solutions
  • An inquisitive and rigorous mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of graphical user interfaces and visualization
  • Experience developing web applications with frameworks such as Angular or React
  • Experience with cloud/distributed computing technologies like micro-service architectures, RPC frameworks, and APIs
  • Familiarity with mechanical simulations and material modeling
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
