Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Java/RPG Developer to become an integral part of our Operations Application Development team. This role is crucial in developing innovative solutions tailored for the transportation sector. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in both Java (JSF) and RPG development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate within a team to design, develop, test, configure, deploy, and maintain technology solutions that align with business requirements and adhere to departmental standards for design, quality, security, performance, and automation.
• Work closely with product owners, business analysts, and IT personnel to identify end-user requirements.
• Assist users by interpreting complex logic and conveying information in accessible language.
• Create and maintain documentation for ongoing support of technology solutions.
• Diagnose operational issues and restore normal functionality.
• Ensure a state of operational readiness and be available for scheduled on-call duties.
• Engage in requirements gathering, story refinement, design, and code reviews.
• Stay updated with new technologies introduced into the technology stack.
• Lead initiatives for process and technical enhancements.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in RPG Development.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience in the transportation industry.
• At least 2 years of experience in Java Development, particularly with Java Server Faces.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Advanced proficiency in IBMi systems environment.
• Expertise in IBMi RPG development language and business application software development.
• In-depth knowledge of IBMi legacy data files, logical files, and DB2 SQL database tables.
• Proficient in integrating the IBMi environment with other platforms.
• Skilled in Java applications operating on IBM WebSphere.
• Familiarity with Stored Procedures, Restful APIs, JSON, SOAP services, XML, and modern development tools.
• Understanding of common source control for RPG and Java build tools, with preference for Azure DevOps, Maven, and GIT.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
